Saudia Airlines and Rabigh Wings have an agreement in place whereby students chosen by Saudia Airlines may take their training at the Rabigh Wings academy, up to and including the Commercial Pilot Level.

Students who take training through the normal process are still welcome to apply to Saudia Airlines, through their cadetship Co-Pilot Program.

English Aviation Course in Jeddah & Program Overview

This is an overview of the Rabigh Wings Aviation Academy English program. The classes are listed in order from beginner to advanced levels. ESP (English for a Specific Purpose) classes are listed at the end. Our level 1-4 classes are custom made to conform to our understanding of the I.C.A.O. standards. Students are required to take a written and oral assessment from our English department for placement and are required to be a minimum ICAO level 4 equivalent before entering into ground school or enrolling in ESP (English for a Specific Purpose) courses.

Level 1 Pre-elementary
Course Hours: 100 (80 hours in class and 20 hours of home study)
Description: Students placing in level 1 are pre-elementary who do not have English letter recognition ability, or the ability to communicate. Students are taught letter recognition, pronunciation, limited vocabulary, and memorized limited interaction phrases.

Level 2 Elementary
Course Hours: 100 (80 hours in class and 20 hours of home study)
Description: Students placing in this level have the ability to read but have a limited vocabulary and cannot communicate beyond a few memorized phrases. Students are exposed to between 600-1000 words in real life situations. By the completion of this course students have the ability to communicate on basic subjects, however poor grammar often interferes with understanding.

Level 3 Pre-operational
Course Hours: 100 (80 hours in class and 20 hours of home study)
Description: Students placed in this level are exposed to MapleDate’s simplified grammar rubric for Arabic speakers, while at the same time increasing their vocabulary and comprehension. Students are accurate with grammar to over a 70% proficiency level upon successful completion of this course, and should have a vocabulary of between 5,000 – 10,000 words. Students are also introduced to aeronautical terminologies and the phonetic alphabet.

Level 4 Operational
Course Hours: 100 (80 hours in class and 20 hours of home study)
Description: Students in this level are taught to communicate in stress scenarios, make presentations, how to debate, brainstorming, and problem solving. For the remainder of the course students are taught and tested on ATC terminologies and additional aeronautical terminologies.

English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Classes

English Language proficiency ELP Training Course Available in (Jeddah, Saudi)

Students must take or place at least level 4 or higher before enrolling in ELP for Saudi Airlines Pilot courses.


TOEFL Preparation Course
Course Hours: 50 (40 hours in class and 10 hours of home study)
Description: Students are taught how to take to TOEFL IBT exam.

ICAO Oral Examination Preparation Course
Course Hours: 50 (40 hours in class and 10 hours of home study)
Description: Students are prepared for the ICAO Oral Examination by practicing 6 different ICAO mock exams based on an actual ICAO evaluation.

Lufthansah DLR Preparation Course
Course Hours: 50 (40 hours in class and 10 hours of home study)
Description: Students are taught to take the DLR test by learning the test modules and taking example test questions from DLR tests.
